Open from dawn to dusk, this 12-foot-wide paved trail is ideal for pedestrians and non-motorized transportation, including Class 1 e-bikes. The trail offers stunning views of water, marshlands, and coastal wildlife, with opportunities for recreational fishing.
The trail is accessible from various points in downtown Beaufort, including the popular Beaufort Plaza Shopping Center and the Spanish Moss Trail Train Depot. The trail was founded in 2012 as a passion project for Dean Moss, who wanted to have a safe and beautiful space for locals and visitors to explore the stunning beauty of the Lowcountry. Thus began this project to create a community trail for exercise and connecting with nature.
